Farish drops Class 222 project

There is disappointment for ‘N’ scalers as two key models are shelved.

BACHMANN HAS TODAY announced changes to its Graham Farish ‘N’ scale range. This follows consultation with the company’s trade customers regarding production of the 9F 2-10-0 locomotive and the Class 222 ‘Meridian’ and ‘Pioneer’ high speed diesel electric multiple units.

IF THERE WAS nominations for landmark model of the last decade, then Bachmann’s 4mm scale Mk. 1 coaches must be on the shortlist. The acclaimed products might be lacking the glamour of recent high-fidelity steam and diesel loco releases, but, finally, modellers had a quality representation of these ubiquitous vehicles. The fourth quarter of 2008 brings a selection of Mk. 1s from the company wearing new numbers in the popular liveries of blue/grey, maroon and crimson/cream.

CE blue for Bachmann ‘Chopper’

CONTINUING ITS POLICY of keeping the older items in its range ticking over with anywhere between one and three new livery/specification combinations a year, Bachmann has released the third of three new examples of its Class 20 locomotive in a 1990s version of BR blue livery, sporting black/yellow flashes on the cab side that indicated that it was a member of the LMR Bescot-based departmental fleet.
