The latest arrivals from the Margate-based firm.
JUST IN TIME for the Warley National Model Railway Exhibition at the NEC in early December, Hornby has released the following items of interest to diesel and electric era modellers.
Locomotive wise, the main new item is BR blue unrefurbished Class 31/1 No. 31165 (Cat No. R2649, RRP £95.00), with later style exhaust port, headcode box (with dominos) and plated water filler hatch/bodyside steps and cab front connecting door.
On the coaching stock front, the former Lima Mk. 3 Sleeper vehicle has been produced in the First Great Western ‘fag packet’ livery (Cat No. R4311, RRP £20.00) with the running number 10584.
Finally, another ex Lima item to get a re-release into the Hornby range is the PWA/JWA pallet van, which is outshopped in Kemira blue/white (Cat No. R6359, RRP £15.00) and UKF Fertilisers brown/cream (Cat No. R6358, RRP £15.00) colour schemes. The models are unchanged from their Lima days, right down to the incorrect continental bogies.
Unfortunately, Hornby has also got the livery of the UKF model slightly wrong. The Fertilisers branding should be green.
