Bachmann’s COV-AB vans are here… nearly.
IT’S CRAZY THAT it has taken this long for a manufacturer to produce a decent R-T-R model of the long-lived BR air-braked vans* but finally, nearly 40 years after they were first built, Bachmann has stepped up to the plate and produced a 4mm scale version of the most successful of the breed, the VAA/VBA, still in use today on certain EWS flows.
Four versions of the van will be produced initially: the VAA (with end vents) in both Railfreight red/grey (Cat No. 38-120) and 1970’s Railfreight maroon (Cat No. 38-121) and the VBA in EWS maroon/gold (Cat No. 38-125) and original bauxite (Cat No. 38-126).
Look out for the full review in the next issue of RAIL EXPRESS Modeller.
* Hornby’s ‘VDA’ doesn’t count!
