Building on our relationship with Jarvis’ freight operating subsidiary, and following the tremendous success of the Hornby Class 56 and Dapol FEA wagon projects, we are pleased to reveal that our next exclusive limited edition will be a Bachmann Branchline Class 66/3 in the black and grey striped livery of the Jarvis subsidiary Fastline Freight, featuring updated tooling and a sound option.
IT WILL COME as little surprise that our new limited edition collector’s model (No. 18 in the series) for 2009 is to be an EMD Class 66 in the colours of Fastline Freight. A natural fit with previous releases, we have reached agreement with Bachmann to produce this model for us and to incorporate updated tooling to represent the latest style of cab front headlights on the distinctive ‘low-emission’ five-door bodyshell. We are even proposing to offer a factory-fitted DCC sound option should enough customers require this impressive extra.
The Bachmann Class 66 is, of course, the only model of this type available in ‘OO’ gauge but is widely-acclaimed being DCC ready as well as featuring directional lighting. Our locomotive will be numbered after the first member of the small fleet, No. 66301.
Fastline’s small fleet of five locos all arrived in 2008 for use on the company’s five-year coal haulage contract with E.ON energy. Demand for this item will inevitably be very high, and with a proportion of the run about to be pre-allocated via the priority order form attached, it is imperative you order quickly to avoid disappointment. Subsequent availability will be allocated on a strict ‘first come, first served’ basis. Delivery is expected in September, but we need your commitment to purchase before April 15th.
